After spending so many days in God’s Own Country we finally headed towards our last destination of our Kerala Trip that was Thekkady.
From exploring Hills to backwaters, From beaches to street markets, we finally came in the lap of nature also known as Periyar.
Thekkady is known for its amazing landscape and beauty. This is the place where one can cherish the moments with their loved ones and family too.
The best thing about this place is the nature and natural things all around. The beauty of the place gives peace to the mind and happiness to the soul. There are so many things to do in Thekkady.
This place has an amazing combination of exotic lifestyle, spice plants, and ayurvedic massage centers. The most common thing in all the above things is nature and purity.

Best Things To Do In Thekkady:-
Thekkady is a complete bliss of nature and peace. Here comes so many places to visit in Thekkady that can mesmerize anyone. So keep reading To know best about Periyar.
Periyar Lake Boat Rides:- Periyar lake is the best attraction point in Thekkady. It is the wildlife protected area with four side lake and it is the small part of Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.
The calmness and pleasing voice of birds will surely blow your mind. It is the best tourist spot. One can dwell in the beauty of the lake by having a boat ride on a cruise for a minimum of one hour. The view of this lake is just another level. We experienced some rain shower that was added on to the beauty of the lake and made it more pleasing. 
It has the beauty of open grasslands with the shades of so many wild animals, different species and aquarial animals too.
The hard thing here is to get the tickets for the cruise. Though there are KTDC ticket counters that don’t charge much but you barely get there. As there is so much rush and a minimum number of people are allowed at a time, so many people don’t get tickets after being in the lines. 
Timings To Visit Here:- 6:30 Am – 5 Pm daily.
5 pm is the last entry slot after this people are not allowed to enter.
Boating Charges:- INR 150 is charged for boating by KTDc and INR 40 if booking from the forest department.
NOTE:- Prices may change because of the shortage of ticket availability, also you may need to buy tickets in black from others. We have also bought tickets in black INR 500 for one.
Ayurvedic Massage Centers:- As we have already mentioned in my Munnar article, about the spice and medicinal garden present almost everywhere in Kerala. Being a state with many medicinal advantages, Thekkady has so many Ayurvedic massage Centers. The best shot about these massage centers was the ayurvedic oils with different medicinal properties. Also, the oil used by them was so aromatic and soothing. The massage offered by them relaxes you completely and take away all your pains.
As there are so many massage centers almost everywhere in the city you can’t rely on every next center. So its the suggestion if you are thinking to visit any, then you must have read or listen about somewhere or from someone. Because there many centers that don’t have complete knowledge of the massage and also don’t use original products.
Also for massage, the best option is the hotel in which you are going to reside in Thekkady. Every hotel in Thekkady have their own massage centers. When you will check-in the hotel they will give you the brochure mentioned with all types of massage. Even we have also had the massage session in the hotel we had a stay. Either you can check the government registered massage centers
Elephant Junction:- It is the best tourist attraction all over Kerela. It has an amazing combination of flora and fauna. Also, it is the picked up place for people who are animal lovers and are animal friendly. This place has the lush greenery with the flavor of the tribal culture of Kerala.
The amazing thing about this place is the Elephant Ride and the Elephant Shower. Everyone is allowed to have an elephant ride all around the jungle-covered area. This is the best hangout spot for singles, couples and for families too. If someone is traveling with kids then this place must be on top of your list and your kids will surely enjoy this place.

Periyar National Park:- This National Park is the dignity of Kerala. It is a famous park in Kerala with elephants and tiger reserve. It is the place for people who love to get indulge in adventure, jungle safari, trekking and many more. This national park is spread in 925sq.km. To fall in love with this place, it is not necessary for you to be an animal lover. Because the landscape and beauty of this place will make you fall in love.

Entry Fees:- INR 25 for Indians and INR 300 for foreigners.
The above three places are the topmost spots in Thekkady which everyone would add in their lists. Also we have visited only these above-mentioned places in Thekkady because we had stayed only one day.
